I began listening to Lexicon Valley very late when John McWhorter had already taken over. Of course I love Professor McWhorter’s vast contributions, but when I went back to listen to old episodes of the podcast I was introduced to the piquant wit of Bob Garfield. Though, I don’t necessarily agree with every take on the Bully Pulpit, I wouldn’t want to disagree with someone more pleasantly than with the soft sardonica of Bob Garfield.
