  • Deepak Chopra? Really?

Some good guests on the podcast but why invite Deepak “quantum woo woo “ Chopra? C’mon. He’s a fraud.

  • Sad Spy Stories

Interesting content but there is often awful sound (couldn’t he afford a decent mic?) and a lot of belly aching about the UK press (rightly) highlighting his dodgy connections in Russia.

Michael Pollan on Consciousness, Psychedelics and the Fight for Free Thought
Q: Do you think machines could ever be conscious in a meaningful way, and what would be required for that to happen?
Pollan contends that true machine consciousness likely requires subjective experience and vulnerability, arguing that without bodily feelings and a meaningful sense of self, artificial systems would only simulate consciousness, not actually possess it.
Michael Pollan on Consciousness, Psychedelics and the Fight for Free Thought
Q: What is consciousness, and why do you think this is a central question for both science and philosophy?
Pollan explains consciousness as an embodied, dynamic process that emerges from interactions among body, brain, and environment, and argues that traditional science has struggled because it cannot escape studying consciousness from within the lived experience it seeks to explain.
Dr Jim Fadiman: The 'Father of Microdosing' on Psychedelics’ Second Act
Q: Could you explain the historical context of psychedelics in the US?
Jim explains how the banning of psychedelics was influenced by political agendas and societal fears during the Vietnam War, leading to a resurgence of interest in their medical benefits.
Dr Jim Fadiman: The 'Father of Microdosing' on Psychedelics’ Second Act
Q: What safety and definitions surround microdosing?
Microdosing involves taking very small doses of psychedelics to improve physical and mental functioning without the hallucinogenic effects.
Dr Jim Fadiman: The 'Father of Microdosing' on Psychedelics’ Second Act
Q: How did you get introduced to psychedelics in Paris?
