  • Love this podcast but needs a bit of change

Iv been listening to this podcast for probably over a year and have really enjoyed it and like Lisa’s approach but I think he needs a bit of change to the format. It’s starting to feel repetitive. I know exactly what Lisa is gonna say when she is gonna say it 🤣 Some new real life examples and how different scenarios play out and how to approach, would be helpful. You can’t keep saying refer to the pool story. If Lisa says she can’t say the story again and says go to her page. A little change u... more

  • I love Lisa but I don’t love the podcast

I feel this podcast feels repetitive and as much as I value Amy’s input I do truly feel the constant need to state she is not a parent is not needed it is very obvious she is not a parent and I think it would be so much better to have a parent on board with Lisa instead. There are so many follow up questions that could be asked to Lisa that would add 1000x more value to the podcast but they are not asked. Even referring to the follow up questions in some of Lisa’s instagram posts would spark mor... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Defiance in 3-Year-Olds (A Mistake Parents Make)
Q: What should we do when a three-year-old screams to get their way in public or at church?
Remove timeouts from that behavior and begin with a less emotionally charged lever like the Behavior Board, assigning simple chores or tasks to shift focus and establish leadership.
Defiance in 3-Year-Olds (A Mistake Parents Make)
Q: What kind of corrective actions would you suggest when a three-year-old damages property and tells you no repeatedly?
Use the Behavior Board to set clear, simple tasks as positive actions, then apply a second, negative consequence if the positive action isn't completed. Avoid relying on timeouts; start with structured, observable steps and follow through.
How Your Reaction Can Make Loud Tantrums Worse
Q: Miranda from Canada asks about meaningful ways to connect after a tantrum when time is limited, such as in cars or stores, and what constitutes effective connection.
Connection can be achieved through brief, simple cues like singing a short song, asking a quick question, or making a light, positive comment to reengage the child, rather than lengthy interactive play, and then returning to normal activities when the tantrum ends.
How Your Reaction Can Make Loud Tantrums Worse
Q: Kaylee from the United States describes a 30-month-old who is constantly active and sometimes aggressive toward a younger sibling; wants ideas for engagement and managing behavior.
Provide independent, long-lasting activities the child can start and finish on their own, rotate toys and activities to keep environment fresh, schedule structured playtime with a timer, and give clear expectations about when a chore or task is expected, while ensuring the child feels seen and valued.
How Your Reaction Can Make Loud Tantrums Worse
Q: Desi from the United States asks about jealousy from a 2.5-year-old after a new baby arrives and how to manage attention between siblings.
Strategies involve involving the older child in baby-related activities (basket of quiet activities, reading to the baby, highlighting the older child's role as hero), ensuring some individual attention, and keeping the older child engaged with predictable routines to reduce competition for parent attention.
