  • Show about Bengals loss

Great show. You did a great job explaining what is happening during the Bengals game and leading up to the start of the season.

    My question is two fold.

    1. Is not having J Chase contact extension finalized effecting the culture Zach Taylor has been building?

    2. What did you mean that the team let Zach and the coaching staff down? The players sure seem to have his back.

And one more side question. Sorry. Does the Tee Higgins tag have an effect?

  • Great Bengals coverage

Solomon Wilcots does a great job getting good interviews and is an excellent spokesperson for the bengals here. Only downside would be the ads. I know they are needed, but they interrupt interviews and are choppy, and they take up a lot of time as well. If that can be smoothed out, it absolutely would get a 5/5 star

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What Paul Dehner Jr. Is Seeing From the Bengals' Revamped Defense
Q: How is Landon Robinson faring in camp given the size mismatch with Dexter Lawrence, and what does that mean for the tackle rotation?
Robinson is progressing with the help of technique-focused coaching, trying to compensate for his size by becoming a technician and learning new techniques to stay effective against bigger defenders, which could earn him rotation snaps as camp proceeds.
What Paul Dehner Jr. Is Seeing From the Bengals' Revamped Defense
Q: How much work do you expect Cassius Howell to get in the first preseason game against Detroit, and what do you expect to see from him?
Howell is expected to see substantial action, tested in multiple roles such as dropper and edge rusher, with a focus on getting comfortable within the defense and showing the versatility to pressure the quarterback and drop into coverage as needed.
Carl Banks on what happened w/ Dexter Lawrence | The Bengals could get the best version of him
Q: What is it that you saw, and what is it that we should know here in Cincinnati about Sexy Dex?
Banks notes the context of injury, recent form, and the need for explanations beyond the surface while emphasizing that the opponent's respect is tied to consistency and health; he also highlights the player's past dominance and the potential impact of a change of scenery.
Bucky Brooks: Mansoor Delane at #10 — But Caleb Downs Is the Dream Pick
Q: What other players besides Delane should Bengals fans watch at the 10th pick, given the need for pressure up front?
Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor are options, but Bain's arm length and size pose concerns; the best path is a blend—an immediate impact player on the edge or interior disruptor paired with versatility in the front seven to complement a high-powered offense.
Bucky Brooks: Mansoor Delane at #10 — But Caleb Downs Is the Dream Pick
Q: Buck, how would you assess Mansoor Delane as a fit for Cincinnati at the 10th overall pick?
Delane is a technically refined corner with instincts and movement skills who can match up with top receivers; if a corner who fits that description is available at 10, he makes sense as a plug-and-play starter who can contribute from day one, especially in a defense that needs playmakers at multiple levels.
