  • Annoying long pauses

Jay talks at such a slow pace and he takes very dramatic long pauses. Some of these pauses make me check my phone and make sure the podcast is still playing/isn’t stuck. John’s cadence is much better but he definitely doesn’t have as much air time as John

These dudes should not be hosting this podcast. It’s very dull and kinda creepy.

  • Barbie movie review

Hello Ken’s, You entirely missed the message of the movie. It’s not about Ken! It’s a multi layered movie about the place of women in the existing patriarchal society. I’m sure Greta Gerwig came up with this concept prior to Roe V. Wade being abolished and stripping women’s rights, which makes the message even more meaningful. The Barbie movie is The Handmaid’s Tale wrapped in a pink bow to make it more palatable. Watch again with any female and maybe you’ll get it.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ranking the Twilight Saga Movies
Q: Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
John typically aligns with Team Edward due to only having seen the first film, where that was the main relationship.
Twilight with Rachel
Q: Rachel, what is your Twilight history?
I remember hearing about when the movies came out and it was sort of a status symbol if you had read the books, but I wasn't allowed to read it until I was 15.
Monster High: Frights, Camera, Action!
Q: Emma, as a newcomer to this franchise, what were you kind of thinking as this story was unfolding?
I thought the initial premise was really interesting. Like this guy is supposed to have the vampire heart, but he doesn't, so he needs to go find just a random girl to be queen.
Monster High: Haunted (with Samariel)
Q: Did you notice any interesting themes while watching the film?
Yes, the film touches on themes of gossip, misinformation, and the consequences of spreading rumors, seen through the lens of a children's movie.
Monster High: Freaky Fusion (with Samariel)
Q: What are your thoughts on this plot?
The Freaky Fusion plot is something. It is also there, and it has some interesting characters. There are interesting elements to it, but it does kind of feel like it keeps sort of tripping and oopsing its way into the middle of this really interesting Frankenstein story that I am frantically sinking my teeth into.
