John gives great gear breakdowns that are easy to understand and very beneficial. I especially appreciate how he explains the pros and cons of each piece of gear, but leaves it to the listener to decide what is best for them. For example, It was thanks to his reviews of muzzleloader sights that I found a set up that improved my accuracy while abiding by my state’s regulations. Thanks John.
There are lots of good hunting stories to be found in this podcast, any time Kevin Robertson is on the podcast you’re in for a good episode so don’t miss those.
This show offers a wealth of knowledge about different calibers and specific models of rifles used in hunting, as well as a great number of stories about hunting in the American west and Africa. I find the Africa stories very interesting (even though I’ll most likely never see the continent myself). This podcast is also what catalyzed my interest in muzzleloader hunting as well.
I enjoy listening and learning about the difference in hunting calibers and listening to the good hunting stories.
I love the podcast as a new hunter, as it is an easy way to gain more knowledge on it for free! I personally served with John in Afghanistan, and I am not surprised by how dedicated he is toward hunting and knowledge sharing.
