  • BBOC Podcast

I think the BBOC podcast is the best college football preview podcast out there. While there are many previews available, none go into detail like the team at BBOC. Their depth of knowledge is incredible, to the point where they seem to know every single player and coach on every team. In particular, Ducks knowledge of the FCS is amazing.

I highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking to get up to speed on the 2026 CFB season. Thanks for the great work!

    Best regards,

  • Great pod

Duck and Colin are extremely knowledgeable about CFB. Duck is particularly goat-like in breaking down lesser conferences and season win expectations.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Interview with Chris "The Bear" Fallica of Fox Sports
Q: What is going to be the big bet that drives bettors to the window this season?
The discussion points to early-season value bets in make-or-miss playoff markets and under bets on teams with uncertain long-term trajectories, along with targeting specific teams with favorable schedules that might outperform expectations.
Interview with ESPN's Stanford Steve
Q: How do you evaluate a top team you're skeptical about at the start of the season?
He explains that even with strong track records, turnovers and road performance require close scrutiny, and that sustainability and coaching continuity can mitigate early-season doubts, using Indiana and Notre Dame as case studies.
Interview with ESPN's Stanford Steve
Q: What stands out about road games and the challenges of winning away from home?
He emphasizes the brutal nature of road environments, the need for teams to adapt to unfamiliar venues, and the value of coaching to prepare quarterbacks for hostile settings, including the impact of travel logistics and fan atmosphere on outcomes.
Interview with ESPN's Stanford Steve
Q: Steve, talk to us about a dark horse team from the Power Four that could surprise in 2026.
He highlights teams like New Mexico and UAB as examples of programs that could outperform expectations due to coaching changes, improved rosters, and stability, while noting the importance of schedule toughness and the ability to win close games against higher-profile opponents.
Interview with College Football Preview Magazine Creator Phil Steele
Q: How has the lack of a second transfer portal window affected your prep and ratings?
Coaches can coach their spring rosters more confidently, you can plan two-deep and three-deep depth charts, and you see more stability in rosters, which makes the magazine's projections more reliable.
