  • Enriching content!

I’m a UX professional of over 15 years and I find this podcast SO helpful to me STILL in this stage of my career as it reaffirms some of the challenges I confront beyond screen design. New designers would help themselves greatly by listening to Jeremy and his all-star guests chop it up about important topics and be prepared for the arduous yet rewarding career or UX.

  • A UX podcast for the practitioner

Jeremy’s guests talk about the whole practice of UX and aren’t afraid to talk about the real work of UX. Difficult stakeholders, feeling undervalued in a business-first culture, advancing your career in a difficult market. Jeremy’s sense of humor keeps the episodes positive despite the sometimes heavy topics.

  • Nice show good sound quality

The only thing I am not sure about this show is that I really don’t understand the intro line ‘how is your mom and them’. I got no idea what this means but it is very odd for someone to mention my mom.

‘How are you.’ Is the kind of thing you say in a conversation. And even in conversations rarely anyone really care. In a podcast, doesn’t make sense to ask your audience how are you, let alone how is your mom…

How Healthy Conflict Creates Better Design Decisions With Yaprak Gültay Davison
Q: Alright, so we have been talking for a little while now, and I've got some questions I like to ask all of our guests to help our listeners get to know our guests a little bit better. What's some advice that you have for everybody out there who might be dealing with conflict, afraid to embrace it?
Bring that empathy in, start designing solutions for it and see what works, prototype and test. Have those conversations openly and be ready to be super vulnerable.
How Healthy Conflict Creates Better Design Decisions With Yaprak Gültay Davison
Q: How did you come to this realization that conflict might not be such a bad thing, and maybe we can leverage it to help our teams grow?
I realized quickly that it's not just about good design, but also good conversations and navigating people. Conflict adds a really good tune to harmony and it's an opportunity to enhance our work.
The Hidden Cost of Being the Dependable Designer With Vivianne Castillo
Q: How do we start to reframe those better, more positive behaviors as success metrics for things like end of year reviews?
Unhealed patterns getting rewarded largely contributes to the toxic workplace; awareness and understanding these patterns is key.
