  • Something very unsettling about…

…listening to Kate Lee joke with her boss about him repeatedly trying to automate her job. Glad to know he thinks that’s pretty funny!

  • Great podcast

Great content, it contains several useful tips that I picked up along the way. Genuine exchanges between the host and the interviewee.

    There are 2 cons:

    - the ads are very loud compared to the audio

    - some information is lost since most of the interviews are screen shares.

  • Well done, Dan

No clue how I stumbled upon "Every with Dan Shipper," but as an AI enthusiast and a subscriber to their newsletter, I'm totally hooked! Dan's passion for AI is contagious, and the way he explores its applications with guests is absolutely brilliant. It broadens our understanding of AI and its potential applications in such an engaging way.

The episode featuring Peter D. Kramer, one of Dan's favorite authors, was a gem. They discussed Kramer's work, including Dan's love for his book, and then de... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Stripe Is Building for an Agent-native World
Q: Can you explain the Agented Commerce Protocol and how merchants adopt it without rebuilding every storefront?
The protocol provides a shared technical language enabling AI systems to access merchant catalogs, prices, and checkout flows through a single Stripe integration. Merchants remain the merchant of record and retain control over trust and fraud, while AI agents can operate across multiple storefronts via a unified interface.
How Stripe Is Building for an Agent-native World
Q: What does the emergence of agent-centric commerce mean for pricing models, and where is Stripe seeing the biggest shifts?
There's a trend toward metering tokens and outcomes for vertical solutions, with ongoing use of seat-based pricing in some contexts but a likely move toward token-based and outcome-based pricing for higher-value AI-enabled workflows. Hybrid models that charge by usage, with real-time top-ups and overages, are becoming more common as costs of running models fluctuate.
How Stripe Is Building for an Agent-native World
Q: What are the top things you recommend to a startup to guard against fraud when using Radar and Stripe in a full-funnel setup?
Start by checking your Radar dashboard for anomalies, enable the Radar assistant for guidance, describe your business model so the system prioritizes the right fraud signals, and implement a funnel integration that uses Radar from signup through overage events for comprehensive protection.
How Stripe Is Building for an Agent-native World
Q: And can you give me some specific examples of the kinds of things you're seeing in terms of fraud with AI-enabled systems?
Fraud now spans multi-account abuse, free-trial abuse, non-payment abuse, and the higher value of stolen compute. Multi-account abuse uses many identities to claim credits; free-trial abuse often costs far more per payer due to AI costs; non-payment abuse involves racking up large overages before payment fails, all before revenue is realized.
The AI Model Built for What LLMs Can't Do
Q: How do EBMs differ from LLMs in terms of understanding and latent variables?
EEBM uses latent variables to store learned rules and structure the data within an energy landscape, enabling a form of understanding beyond language probabilities, while LLMs rely on token-based likelihoods and you typically only see outputs after the fact.
