I’ve been looking for more AI/business podcasts, that don’t just report on what major companies are doing, but actually go through case studies and practical application. There just don’t seem to be that many!! So I immediately checked out diarras episode, was excited to learn she had another episode on the pod, and am slowly making my way through other interviews. Definitely recommend for those new to AI or wanting to leverage it even more!

  • Traditional thinking with a pinch of AI

I just listened to one episode, so will update this after one or two more, but it was painful. I listened to one on how to strategize with AI by a BCG leader.

The best way I can describe what the guest recommended is take the standard BCG methodology and occasionally add some AI terms to the steps. He covered culture change (I think), characteristics of a startup and how to be innovative. If you’ve read any high level business books 20 years ago, there’d be no surprises. So, he’d go thru his li... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Unexpected Economics of AGI - with Christian Catalini, Tech Founder and Co-Creator of Libra
Q: What is the central thesis of your AGI paper, in simple terms?
The central idea is that as AI approaches human-level capabilities across many tasks, the important bottleneck becomes verification—how we judge, validate, and calibrate AI outputs against real-world standards, which remains a distinctly human domain even in a world with cheap intelligence.
AI-Native or Not: The Defining Choice for Companies Right Now - with Melissa Cheals, CEO of Smartly
Q: Can you start there and just say, why did you feel the urge to transform?
The urge came from observing early AI advances, realizing data and AI are linked, and recognizing an opportunity to reimagine products and processes to dramatically improve speed, cost, and quality while empowering the workforce.
From Roadmaps to R&D: How AI Is Changing Product Development - with Richard White, Founder of Fathom AI
Q: Can you talk for a second about when you think about organizing the team, there's a group of it sounds like your core engineering team is kind of working on core engineering challenges and then the AI team is more exploratory in nature?
I think a lot of organizations, a lot of folks that we talk to... find it difficult to carve out resourcing at all for exploration.
From Roadmaps to R&D: How AI Is Changing Product Development - with Richard White, Founder of Fathom AI
Q: How do you think about organizing the team, there's a group of it sounds like your core engineering team is kind of working on core engineering challenges and then the AI team is more exploratory in nature?
We have about a four to one ratio of core engineers to AI engineers. If we were just more traditional SaaS app... I imagine that ratio would be more two to one.
Why AI Gets People Wrong: The Real Source of Insight with Anthropologist Mikkel B. Rasmussen
Q: How would you compute the question of how AI impacts kids and play in LEGO's world?
First, I'd figure out the company's assumptions about AI and study how kids currently use AI, particularly in their creative and playful contexts.
