I never write podcast reviews, but Beyond the Lamppost is too good not to. It does the books justice in terms of the beauty and reverence they attribute to the books as they read and discuss them again. I love how personal they make the books and how they discuss CS Lewis’ intent in writing different portions of them. I cannot give it enough praise, it is such a thoughtful and lovely podcast.
Keep up the good work! This is so nice to listen to. Both of you have excellent voices for podcasts! And the little snippets of you singing is just absolutely wonderful.
🦁Edit: I’ve finally caught up only to realize you are taking a break! Hope you come back soon. I can’t remember the last time I read through the Chronicles of Narnia but your podcast sure does bring back a lot of memories. The way you talk about the books and movies makes me feel like I’m back in the story with you. I also real... more
I love this show not only for the wit and obvious ease of the hosts, but for the commitment to diving into truths and fantasy and faith. Never is there a moment of “Christian fluff.” All elements of life are explored through the lenses of Lewis’ series. Young or old, Christian or non, melancholy or joyful— come on down and share a cup of “jolification” with the marvelous Reed duo!
There are so many underlying ideas, concepts, details that I’ve LOVED learning through this podcast and would 10/10 recommend to all the Narnians out there!🤓💕
The episodes mentioned many details that I overlooked, and some of them are very fascinating like the contrast of cold and warm.
