The idea of worship is simple. Uncomplicated. When you think about it, worship is ascribing worth to someone or something. As people of faith, we ascribe to God the worth, praise and adoration that He is due. But worship that intersects with industry... more
Throughout church history there has always been an interesting tension between creativity and functionality. What is more important? Creating beautiful things or getting a certain message across? What is more important to worship? Right theology or b... more
I’m not a Lead Pastor, but I can’t imagine anything more difficult than pastoring in today’s political climate. We feel that these days are unique, but in reality they are not. History has much to teach us. Occasionally I like to bring Lead Pastors o... more

I understand and agree that the issues in Chicago are important and we should wrestle with the ideas of church vs. government, the idolatry of power, etc. However, I was expecting to learn a lot more about Black worship theology and practice (something I have no access to being outside of the US), not in the political situation of Chicago. That episode seemed like you guys wanted to talk about politics with a worship sticker, not about worship and how politics affects it in the context of Black ... more
Thank you David for these podcasts. I have been listening to these interviews since 2014 and I have learned so much over the years. I love that you get some great worship leaders on to your shows and being able to dive into their life experiences and knowledge on a deeper level is so great. Looking forward to more amazing talks in the future episodes!
David’s podcast should be “required listening” for any Exec Pastor or Senior Pastor wanting to support their worship leaders and teams
This podcast was very unhelpful. The whole purpose of worship was taken totally out of context mixed with throwing in scriptures that are totally out of context with the point they're trying to make. This is what's wrong with people entering the"worship industry". They are very doctrine a week and have no business waiting other people to an intended place!
I live what I have heard so far and I wish this was still producing more episodes! Thanks for talking about these topics and I would encourage you to keep going! I am in a phase of deconstruction and reconstruction and as a previous Sunday worship pastor I can’t wait to hear more!

A thoughtful, practitioner-focused show geared toward worship leaders, pastors, and church teams. It blends in-depth conversations with veteran musicians, pastors, and authors who explore worship culture, leadership, discipleship, and the spiritual formation behind effective ministry. Episodes frequently tackle balancing artistry with service, navigating political and cultural realities in faith communities, and practical tips for building healthy worship ministries, pipelines, and cross-cultural expression. A standout pattern is the willingness to address hard topics—from burnout and governance to justice and indigenous perspectives—while keeping faith and congregational life at the center. This mix of candid storytelling, actionable strat... more
