  • Inspiration

Great Inspiration for all women and interested men who want to learn more about women health and well being. In the info box below the description was “anstoßend” meaning provocative in a moral way, shame on the platform for this stupidness and ignorance.

I really enjoy Kim’s podcast. The one with JJ Virgin covered all of my current physical health needs and provided validating information.

I had been using the Buff Muff app for pelvic floor dysfunction. I am 72 years old have. I am more than pleased with the pelvic floor improvement as well as my general muscle strength.

I find this podcast with other speakers in the field very helpful and informative.

  • 5/14 menopause and bone health

I am so thankful for this conversation and research. I am 50 and just suffered a significant knee issue “out of nowhere” and due to my weight and told knee replacement won’t be happening until I lose a significant amount of weight. I bought the muff buff method for my 50th birthday in December and didn’t really get past buying what I needed. But due to that email I learned about this post episode exactly when I needed it. THANK YOU!

  • Not Alone

This podcast has made a huge difference for me in navigating my journey into menopause and dealing with stage 3 or 4 prolapse. It makes me cry sometimes, hearing the stories of other women because of their struggle but also because it’s such a big deal to not feel so alone in my experiences. I have learned so much here and feel prepared with the right questions for my physicians and therapist, and I know about other treatment options that even they have never heard of.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Menopause Gut with Cynthia Thurlow
Q: What is the bigger picture of our gut when we talk about gut health beyond bloating and digestion?
The gut microbiome is a complex, interactive system influencing every organ; hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause affect digestion, bile function, immune responses, and brain interactions, making a whole-body approach essential.
The Menopause Gut with Cynthia Thurlow
Q: Can you please let the listeners know who you are and what brought you to writing this new book?
Cynthia Thurlow explains her background as a nurse practitioner with a focus on perimenopause and menopause, her pivot from traditional practice to integrative and functional approaches, and how her observations led to writing The Menopause Gut to explore the gut's role in menopausal health.
OTC Hormones with Karen Martel
Q: How should listeners think about using topical vs. systemic hormones?
Topical applications can target specific areas like the face or vaginal tissue, but they can still affect systemic levels if dosed aggressively; systemic therapies require careful dosing and, ideally, medical supervision to balance benefits and risks.
OTC Hormones with Karen Martel
Q: Why do you believe hormone therapy can be beneficial for health outcomes beyond hot flashes?
Hormones influence multiple systems through receptors spread across the body, including skin, hair, eyes, and pelvic tissues; optimizing systemic and topical levels can improve collagen, moisture, tissue integrity, and even bladder and pelvic floor function.
Perimenopause Solutions with Dr Mariza Snyder
Q: What role does testing play in managing perimenopause?
Testing can validate symptoms and guide treatment, particularly labs for lipid and thyroid health, inflammation, and metabolic markers, but decisions should also prioritize symptoms and individual needs rather than lab results alone.
