Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bringing Your People Skills Into Your Business with Doula Darcy (ENCORE)
Q: Why do you think that having good people skills is so essential for professionals in our fields?
Because this work is deeply personal and happens in moments of vulnerability; showing warmth, listening, and genuine care builds trust and makes clients feel seen, which leads to lasting relationships and referrals.
How Sleep Consultants and Pediatricians Can Work Together with Dr. Sujay Kansagra
Q: How should misinformation about sleep training be handled with families?
Engage with empathy, present large-scale evidence, invite dialogue with supportive data, and focus conversations on families who are open to evidence-based approaches rather than arguing with critics.
How Sleep Consultants and Pediatricians Can Work Together with Dr. Sujay Kansagra
Q: Why are pediatric visits limited, and how can sleep consultants fill the gap?
Because pediatric visits are short and cover many topics, sleep consultants can provide longitudinal support, detailed behavioral strategies, and ongoing coaching that doctors cannot always deliver in a single visit.
How Sleep Consultants and Pediatricians Can Work Together with Dr. Sujay Kansagra
Q: What does collaboration between sleep consultants and medical professionals look like in practice?
Collaboration involves recognizing red flags that warrant medical input, sharing evidence-based practices, and creating vetted referral relationships so families receive consistent guidance across both medical and behavioral domains.
We Can Do Hard Things with Ivy Havens
Q: What would you say to somebody listening who's overwhelmed and feels like all this stuff is so hard? Computers are complicated, the Internet is complicated, I don't know how to do things, I'm so overwhelmed.
A nine-year-old can figure things out and publish to platforms like Spotify; if Ivy can do it, so can adults. Stay focused, be in the zone, and use resources and help from others when needed.
