This podcast was assigned to us in a comm grad school seminar. This is an excellent listen and I enjoy it!
I just recently started my graduate program in Communication Studies, and even though I did well in my undergrad I was terrified about my graduate program. Listening to this podcast helped ease a lot of my early anxieties, and gave me advice that has really changed my outlook on it. Great podcast!
I listened to this podcast for my seminar and I found it to be super informative. It was helpful to get advice and perspective from someone who has been through the communication graduate school process and made it out the other side! The host offers realistic advice and perspective!
As a first year graduate student, I entered my program filled with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. I was not sure what to expect/what was expected of me and could not have a moment of peace for the weeks leading up to my first day of class. This podcast relieved all of that within my first listen! It explained the ins and outs of graduate school, told me what expectations are held, and validated all of my feelings of uncertainty. It truly helped me in every way and I am so happy to have this a... more
I listened to one and the next thing I knew I was binging through episodes! The topics are super relevant to our everyday communication challenges. Now I listen in the mornings on my way to work and it gives me some motivation and specific techniques to better communicate throughout the day.
I absolutely love your podcast and learning so much. ❤️
Malika is ALWAYS 100% authentic, sharing things most others gwnerally do not. She makes you feel “normal”, and allows you to let go of some of the pressure Society places on people. Mahalo, Malika. You are seriously amazing.
Dr.Hawkins is right! Positive comments does go a long way !!
The communification podcast is upbeat, very organized and easy to follow. It is full of great information that is relatable to a wide audience. I feel inspired by Malika’s authentic personality and ability to talk about life and communication issues while including an array of speakers to share their opinions and thoughts. I feel the “cherry on top” is this podcast helps raise funds to donate to a local food bank to ensure all families get the nutrition they need, no matter their circumstances. ... more
Just finished listening to your podcast and I am a horrible example for my grandson. I get on my phone after work and there I stay all night, mindlessly scrolling over meaningless content. I am going to set a time limit for the both of us on our devices and spend more time outside of inside making memories. Mahalo for this!!!
Mahalo for all your podcasts!!! Great job and congratulations!!!!
This is a long overdue review! Congratulations on your pilot episode, Malika! You and your guests covered such an important topic that many can relate to. Parental phubbing (learned a new term today!) is definitely something we need to work on in our household. The research and practical strategies that were shared will help me be more mindful about my phone usage around others, especially my son. I listened to the podcast in my car as I was driving and it really felt like I was just listening... more
