  • Girlfriends who care about health!

I love listening to Kelly’s experience and expertise. It’s like sitting down with a girlfriend who knows how to pursue health (science backed) and gets the inside scoop from other experts. She’s relatable and heartfelt. Definitely an uplifting and up-leveling listen.

  • Hard to listen to all the “likes”

I used to listen all of the time but I can’t anymore because every other word Kelly says is “like.” I used to enjoy the content and appreciate the value of it but the “like” every other word is way too distracting now. Only commenting to hopefully bring some awareness to it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really appreciate the variety of topics that you cover, listening to each episode really keeps health on my mind and allows me to learn more and the steps to take to improve my health. Including how to talk to my doctor and what I should be asking for and why. All around great podcast. Thank you

First off, I really loved this episode!! So much valuable information. My question is…..he talks about toxic masculinity and he talks about acceptance of all and Kelly agrees with it, yet she was a huge supporter of Charlie Kirk. How is that possible? Don’t pretend you agree with Billy when you support someone who was homophobic and misogynistic. It just doesn’t line up. I so badly want to keep listening to Kelly, but her support for MAHA and Charlie Kirk has my questioning all of her content.

383: Endocrine Disruptors, PFAS & Hidden Weight Gain | Leonardo Trasande | Leonardo Trasande
Q: Is detoxification a viable path for PFAS and related chemicals?
Chelation and aggressive detox methods are not practical or broadly effective for PFAS; focus should be on reducing exposure, understanding body burden, and gradual health improvements through sustained lifestyle changes and policy advocacy.
383: Endocrine Disruptors, PFAS & Hidden Weight Gain | Leonardo Trasande | Leonardo Trasande
Q: What practical steps can families take to lower exposure without breaking the bank?
Adopt simple, high-impact habits like using cast iron or stainless steel cookware, improve air and water filtration, reduce use of disposable plastics, be selective about packaging, and stay informed through reputable sources and labs that offer targeted toxin testing.

Q: What has changed most in the science since the last discussion, and what should parents be paying attention to now?
The landscape has shifted to recognize micro and nanoplastics as pervasive in the body and environment, with stronger emphasis on low-dose, non-linear effects, the impact on thyroid function and metabolism, and the need for practical steps at home to reduce exposure while scientists push for better regulation and testing.

Q: Can we talk about how your own personal journey influenced your career choice?
His Type 1 diabetes diagnosis and the hospital experience reframed metabolism for him, shifting focus from calories in/calories out to how insulin and nutrition interact to regulate energy, with a long-term commitment to understanding and teaching blood sugar balance.

Q: What inspired your approach to helping 'good kids' heal and become autonomous, compassionate adults?
