  • One of the best

Its straight down the line enjoyable listening, factual stuff. Listen weekly and will regularly relisten to podcasts. The guys have a good dynamic between them. The quality of content is high and guys do speak clearly, seems a strange thing to say but on some other cattle podcasts I sometimes struggle to clearly hear whats been said which you would think is rule number 1 on podcasts. These guys are clear.

    Thanks guys keep its up!

  • Finally!!

Finally a cowboys podcast I can listen too. Informative and gets to the point. I hate those other podcasts where they just need out. This one speaks to the family trying to improve their own operation.

  • Needs audio production improvement

Great content and knowledgeable hosts/guests but frequently seems like they are whispering. When I normally listen at 50% volume I need to turn it up to 90% to hear them. Will update review when I notice this improvement.

Q: How can cattle producers prepare for unexpected events?
Have a checklist ready and maintain thorough record-keeping for insurance and cattle identification.
Guest Dr. Christine Navarre, Liver Flukes, Emergency Preparedness
Q: What are some emergency preparedness tips for a cow-calf operation?
Prioritize water access, low-stress cattle handling, vaccination, and nutrition. Equip with backup power and communication supplies.
Managing Body Conditioning in Cows, Cause and Management of Weak Calves
Q: What about health concerns between a fat and a thin cow?
I'm not really from a health standpoint worried about those heavy cows except for at the extremes, but I think those cows deserve a look if they are part of a herd that is predominantly thinner.
Managing Body Conditioning in Cows, Cause and Management of Weak Calves
Q: What should I be more worried about or which is going to cost me more, cows that are over conditioned or fat or cows that are under conditioned or thin?
I would rather have cows be a little overconditioned going into calving because they are less likely to have calving difficulty and more likely to cycle again sooner.
Dr. Dustin Pendell’s Trip to Taiwan, Fog Fever in Wyoming Cattle, Welfare Practices in Australia
Q: How do I identify which plants in an area are causing L-tryptophan poisoning?
Identifying plants is difficult because there isn't much information available on the specific plants that absorb or convert L-tryptophan.
