  • Three rambling white guys

Three rambling white guys who have very little insight into baseball and much less insight into race in America. The three guys lambasted athletes who took a knee and did so without providing any arguments and instead spewed logical fallacies and the usual dog whistle comments. They should realize that when you side with Trump you’re on the wrong side. I’m white and I highly suggest Sully Baseball and Baseball Tonight if you’re a fan of baseball podcasts from tolerant and intelligent perspective... more

  • Great baseball podcast

If you are interested in MLB or baseball in general at all this podcast is a weekly must listen. They also have weekly mini casts but the main weekly show is among the best baseball podcasts out there in my opinion.

This is my favorite sports/travel/education/comedy podcast. It's the best, in the weak-ish podcast baseball category Baseball PhD shines like a beacon in the night. Each week I look forward to new episodes with great anticipation. I eagerly subscribed and purchased their app on iTunes, where I'm currently chewing through their tremendous backlog! Keep up the good work fellas!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2026 Washington Nationals
Q: What are the Nationals going to do this year—buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?
The discussion suggests they may lean toward buying to shore up the bullpen, though there is skepticism about market depth and a larger concern about maintaining long-term offensive strength versus overreacting with quick fixes.
2026 Kansas City Royals
Q: How did the Home Run Derby compare to the All-Star Game in terms of viewer engagement?
They argued the Derby is more gripping and focused on individual performance, whereas the All-Star Game serves as a broader fan showcase and entertainment event, though both have their own charm.
2026 Kansas City Royals
Q: What were your thoughts on Netflix entering the baseball realm with the Home Run Derby?
The guests praised Netflix's production, noting its high quality, immersive camera work, and ability to capture the drama of the Derby, while also valuing the integration of players' stories and family moments.
2026 Cincinnati Reds
Q: What's happening with the Reds' bullpen and overall pitching in the current season?
Egger explains the bullpen has been a major problem, with closers and late-inning arms lost to injuries, leading to a slide in the late innings and undermining what could have been a stronger season.
2026 Colorado Rockies
Q: Why is there talk about a soft floor and a hard TV contract in baseball negotiations?
A soft floor rises minimum salaries gradually and, coupled with a robust national TV contract, could improve competitive balance without imposing an absolute cap, while pushing owners to reconsider spending through a national revenue pool.
