The loose autobiographical fiction of James Joyce at his most palatable in long form, Portrait tells the story of Stephen Dedalus and how he contends with being a human who sees the world differently than those around him.
We talk about Ireland's Lucky Lady, the Marvel superhero known as Shamrock.
This episode we will be going on a bit of a bawdy journey into the library archive not meant for children. Sorry for the sound.
The library looks at a pre-YA classic about an alien invasion, talks about our favorite alien invasion movies, and discusses some potential ways to stop aliens in their tracks.

I LOVE the voice.
Very entertaining and funny!
My fav podcast.
I’ll just read the spark notes next time.
Great concept. Unfortunately the guy has a weird gimmick where he talks like a cross between WWE's Undertaker and Billy Bob from Slingblade. His humor is pretty weak and all over the place. He's done 60 plus episodes so I doubt it will change.
I enjoy The Voice, the Twin Peaks-esque jazz music (bring it back!), and the entertaining commentary about the stories covered. Also kudos for providing trigger warnings. Keep up the good work.
Entertaining and insightful book discussions. Listen to this!!!
