  • Good show bad sound

Recording volume is too low, and often fades in and out.

  • Expert Sports banter with a side of laughs

Kevin and Evan are fountains of wisdom on local sports. I love the camaraderie of these two. It makes my exercise go by quickly as I plug in and am thoroughly entertained and informed. The guests that are folded in add a nice dose of expertise but Sherrington and Grant are why I come back week after week!

  • Good show but….

Love the show, but I can’t stand the back and forth banter for the first 5 or 6 minutes of the show. It’s so pointless and so boring, someone needs to tell these guys they aren’t funny. It’s so hard to listen to. Once you get past that part, it’s a good show.

  • Tech Issues

Can’t believe that a major news outlet is not paying for better tech for these guys. It’s really just Kevin. Dude sounds like he’s calling in from 1997. And they need to stop talking over each other so much.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rangers at the deadline, Cowboys in Oxnard and "Bigfoot" Bland
Q: How could Corey Seager's potential trade impact the Rangers this season and beyond?
The hosts argue it's a complex balance between maximizing this year's chances and avoiding a drain on long-term payroll, with trade value influenced by age, contract, and the team's ability to replace production.
SportsDay Rangers Episode 45: Bobby Valentine
Q: What stands out about the 1986 season and the impact of young players on the roster?
The season was defined by an influx of homegrown talent and shrewd trades that brought in players like Ruben Sierra, Scott Fletcher, and Edwin Correa; the mix of youth and veteran leadership, plus the leadership of Grieve, created an environment where the team could compete and grow, setting up future success.
SportsDay Rangers Episode 45: Bobby Valentine
Q: What was your approach when you arrived in Texas in 1985 and how did you aim to transform the Rangers?
I focused on signaling identity for Arlington, moving into the community, and engaging with fans and local business to build a baseball culture; I also leaned on a core group in the front office to push for changes that would allow young players to develop and for the team to compete more consistently.
SportsDay Rangers Episode 40: The one with Tom Schieffer
Q: What was the vision of the ownership group when they bought the team?
The group aimed to build a new ballpark to generate revenue, elevate the franchise's status, and create a stable foundation for long-term success while focusing on community partnership and baseball longevity rather than partisan politics.
SportsDay Rangers Episode 39: The one with Jerry Narron.
Q: What were your initial thoughts coming to Texas in 1995?
We saw a lot of talent in Texas and believed a winning approach could be built with the right people and leadership, which started a run of division titles.
