Crazy topic but so interesting, well done
The researcher and host does a good job of presenting the material, but ultimately, ballast, while influential, is just not a particularly interesting subject. Would be interested to hear more podcasts from Hakai, their reporting is superb.
Hakai’s first, bite-sized podcast is a winner - largely due to Elin Kelsey and her expansive perspective on an otherwise perplexing subject. What a treat!

I‘m familiar with Elin Kelsey through her Hope and the Environment presentations and her many children’s books, all of which are excellent. I listened to the first podcast mainly because I was curious how ‘ballast’ could possibly relate to her work.
