She asked insightful and well-informed questions and created a clear, supportive space to explore why hormone symptoms are often signals of deeper gut, immune, and environmental stress. I appreciated her depth, precision, and genuine commitment to helping listeners understand the root causes behind complex symptoms that are so often dismissed. • Why is everything “ SHOCKING”

Sounds pretty sensationalist but I have noticed podcasts like this and others are all using the words “THE SHOCKING TRUTH” dot dot dot in the titles. C’mon we are adults. Just stick to the subject. If we are following you we don’t need this National Enquirer type titling. I have liked some of her guests. She has a definite perspective on Pharma for life though. IMO

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

118: Stop Starving, Start Healing: The Real Root Cause of Weight Loss Resistance
Q: What can someone do to work on digestion and detoxification on their own?
There are practical detox strategies that are budget-friendly and long-term, including Epsom salt baths, sea salt baths, castor oil packs, self lymphatic drainage, vibration plates if available, circadian rhythm work to calm cortisol, and simple digestion aids like apple cider vinegar with water and lemon water timed before meals, all of which can improve absorption and detox pathways.
114. Why Your Brain Feels Drained... and How to Reset It with Dr. Patrick Porter
Q: Can you tell people a little bit about yourself and what you do?
Dr. Porter describes his lifelong focus on brain fitness, the BrainTap technology, and how his work translates brain science into practical daily tools for focus, relaxation, sleep, and performance.
112: The Birth Control Conversation We Need to Have: Helpful Tool or Hidden Problem?
Q: What alternatives do you recommend for women in their 40s and 50s who don't want to take pills?
Long-acting reversible contraceptives like progestin IUDs, smaller-diameter IUDs suitable for younger patients, tubal ligation, or vasectomy for partners, are preferred; newer pills like Nextellus may reduce some risks, but non-pill methods generally provide more stable hormone balance.
112: The Birth Control Conversation We Need to Have: Helpful Tool or Hidden Problem?
Q: What are the key risks of staying on birth control pills into the 40s and 50s?
The main risks discussed include increased cardiovascular risk such as heart attack and stroke, clotting risks that rise with age, and negative interactions with mood, sleep, and overall hormonal balance; if contraception is not needed, it's often safer to transition to non-pill options.
113: Why Cholesterol Isn’t the Villain and Estrogen Isn’t the Enemy with Dr. Terri DeNeui
Q: What labs should we be looking at beyond the basic lipid panel to assess statin need and cardiovascular risk?
A broader panel including APOA, APOB, triglycerides and HDL ratios, CRP for inflammation, insulin levels for metabolic health, calcium score for cardiac risk, and thyroid hormones to understand overall metabolic status.
