  • Almost perfect!!

Anna, I love the podcast and the guests featured and information provided is incredible! I do find the interview style a little quick sometimes and wish that she would dig a little deeper on some of her guests responses instead of moving on so abruptly. Having said that I think this will improve in time as she becomes a better interviewer! Still giving 5 stars as I’d recommend it to everyone!

  • Too Political for Me

Listened to a few espisodes, but was hoping for unbiased scientific approach. After a few espisodes, I quickly realized that their political/ religious views were skewing the information provided, so I quit listening.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

55: Therese Dansby - The Breastfeeding Episode Every New Mother Needs
Q: What is the best pump for most people and how important is flange size?
Therese endorses the Spectra pumps as a starting point for most, stresses the critical importance of correct flange size, and notes that while the pump matters, the flange fit greatly affects comfort and effectiveness.
55: Therese Dansby - The Breastfeeding Episode Every New Mother Needs
Q: Is it normal for breastfeeding to be a little bit painful at the beginning? What should new mothers expect in the early postpartum days?
She emphasizes that some discomfort is common as the breast tissue stretches, but pain should lessen after the initial latch; persistent pain or cracking indicates a latch or technique issue that needs adjustment, and that understanding the baby's cues is crucial for a comfortable latch.
55: Therese Dansby - The Breastfeeding Episode Every New Mother Needs
Q: Absolutely. What about for mothers who potentially their babies go to the NICU right after they're born, or if there's a C-section, how do they sort of get that supply going within the early first hours after birth?
Therese explains that pumping within the first hour and maintaining skin-to-skin when possible helps establish supply, and outlines practical steps like setting up a pump at home and ensuring proper flange sizes to support milk removal when immediate skin-to-skin is not feasible.
43: Aaron Siri - Vaccine Facts We Were Never Supposed To Know
Q: How did you decide to get into this work?
Siri explains his career pivot from defending Fortune 100 companies to researching vaccine safety, fueled by a realization that vaccines are treated differently in liability and regulation, which led him to focus on civil rights and informed consent related to vaccines.
44: Elizabeth Metzger - The Nutrition Advice Every Woman Should Hear Before Getting Pregnant
Q: How do you view the role of fasting in preconception health?
Fasting is not universally beneficial for fertility and can actually be detrimental for many women trying to optimize their cycle and hormones; it should be approached with caution and personalized to the individual's health status.
