Society pushes them into a box they were never meant to fit into and shames them if they want to step out of it. Then downplays all the discomfort and mental health struggles that staying inside the box. This contributes to a significantly higher suicide rate than the general public. It doesn’t take critical thinking to see the parallels between the autistic and transgender persons experience in this society.
