  • Great Stuff

I am really enjoying this podcast. I would say I agree with the vast majority of how they rate these songs. I constantly find validation in thoughts I’ve had for years about some of these songs, just as much as they bring attention to things I never noticed. I find myself immersing myself in the trio again in a way I haven’t in a long time and I’m loving it. I hope to hear them review The Sacrifice & At Sickness in the near future.

  • A podcast about Trio by people who may not like Trio

Rated 4 stars because it’s a podcast about Alkaline Trio, but do these guys actually like Trio?

UPDATE 4: I’m so glad this is over. Slapdash and self-congratulatory to the end.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE’S UPDATE: I truly can’t believe David Anthony has not yet murdered Tim Crisp.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: It’s a podcast so inept and unmemorable even the hosts can’t remember what songs they’ve already done.

UPDATE: All of the below still applies, but now after 66 episodes one of the hosts can’t even figure out how to speak audibly into a microphone. I’m still listening but It’s not getting be... more

  • Critical but an interesting listen

I have loved A3 since high school… 15 years later I am still a big fan and listen all the time.. especially older stuff. I don’t always agree with the critiques but I’m here for any excuse to immerse myself in A3.

  • Makes you revisit the band

Much like one of the hosts, I dropped off around Agony and Irony, but checked in a while later. This show, while critical of some of the material, puts everything in perspective. The show has given me reason to not only revisit the classic material that I loved but also check into the material I dropped out on, and find a few gems along the way. Thanks guys.

  • If you are a long time listener of Alkaline Trio, its worth listening to

I’ve been listening to Alkaline Trio for almost 20 years now. They’ve provided me with so much joy and helped me through some rough times. I’ve also walked away from the band and come back to the band several times. I have my favorites on every album and some songs I can pass on. This podcast has helped me discover tracks that I haven’t listened to.

This podcast is perfect for people who feel nostalgic about the old songs but want to dip their toes into the newer stuff as well. I would recomme... more

  • Keep ‘em Coming

I was late to the party, but have slowly been wading my way through these wonderful episodes since March 2020. I thought I knew a lot about this band, but it’s great to be wholly outshined by two gents at the pinnacle of their interest & knowledge. By listening, it’s easy to understand this project as a labour of love from these guys. I enjoy the fact that this passion gets passed onto the listener & it’s hard to avoid. There’s highs & lows of emotions, plenty of relatable non trio content for c... more

  • Fans Discuss a Band

Alkaline Trio has been my favourite band for 17+ years. Seen them 13+ times (I stopped counting.) Got a heart/skull tattoo years ago. One host is a lot more familiar with the discography than the other host. But they’re both knowledgable enough to have a worthwhile conversation. I disagree with a lot of their opinions. But it doesn’t upset me. People have different opinions. And I’m learning some details about the band I didn’t know. I am very familiar with every song. I don’t know anybody that ... more

  • A highlight of my weak week.

As a fan of Alkaline Trio for over 15 years, it’s so cool to hear someone else’s take on their songs and speak knowledgeably and passionately about them and the history of the band. Tim and David are a great listen and seem like really good dudes too!

  • Overall, 5 alarm clocks out 5

While I don’t always agree with their assessments (see lukewarm reviews of Fatally Yours and My Standard Break From Life), these guys are hilarious, have plenty of heart and helped get me back into an incredibly good band. It takes guts to share such personal stories as well. Kudos to a great podcast.
