I am pretty sure I have eaten at Culver’s entirely because of these folks talking about Nerissa Ravencroft. Anyway, I enjoy this discussion about the classical stories, folk tales, etc. The discussion about other stuff after is also really nice. It’s a great companion for when I go on walks.
This podcast probably has one of my favorite theme songs. The rest of the content is perfect too. Both hosts are great and they bring a fun energy to Nordic Sagas
As someone who’d long been curious about the Icelandic Sagas but never tried to actually engage with them, this podcast is a dream come true.
Niamh and Em are both great podcasters, and their dynamic here being along the lines of an expert talking to a friend about their area of interest keeps the tone conversational while still being insightful. Highly recommend as a way to learn more about some pretty good stories.

An engaging exploration into the rich narratives of classical literature, particularly focusing on the Icelandic sagas and other mythologically themed tales. By blending humor with scholarly insights, hosts navigate various themes such as heroism, mortality, love, and the absurdities of both ancient and modern life. Personal stories, reflections on friendship, and lighter discussions about contemporary experiences complement the serious literary analyses, making the material accessible and enjoyable for a broad audience. The dynamic between hosts fosters a uniquely relatable listening experience while drawing connections between timeless stories and everyday existence.
