Some of it could be interesting as a postmodernist survey to fill in your gaps of knowledge, but most it comes across as cynical and snarky, which is strangely at odds with somebody who claims to love Anglo-Saxon history.
David Crowther is my favorite podcaster by far. He makes me laugh and don’t sleep on his social history episodes. The ones on architecture are a tour de force!
If history explained with humor and warmth is your thing, then David Crowther is the podcaster for you! In a good pace he goes through the early English history before and around the time of the Vikings. I love his narrator style, digressions and allround geekiness, connecting the past to the present in a personal and engaging way. I highly recommend this and his other podcasts :)
Really enjoyable podcast. David covers each subject with clear enthusiasm and humour. Very easy to follow but at the same time informative for listeners with any level of knowledge of Anglo Saxon history.
Pay attention, folks, THIS is how to podcast.
David Crowther is an artiste of podcasting, though he might cringe at that snooty description. Engaging, intelligent, informative, and witty, he's far and away my favorite podcaster. I marvel at how his delivery of his well-prepared content comes across as seemingly spontaneous. Yep, anyone who can have me on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the next new episode about Anglo-Saxon history has to be an artiste!
