  • I like AJR

When I first heard about AJR having a Podcast I do not believe it then I saw it and I love it. I’ve listen to every single one of their songs for absolutely no reason and that’s why I love them. (This is dumb. Why did I make this?)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can We Agree on LI-RADS Ancillary Features?
Q: Do you have any big takeaways from this article?
The guest highlights that many MRI ancillary features are more reproducible than expected and that features favoring malignancy tend to show stronger agreement than those favoring benignity, with MRI generally outperforming CT.
From Free-Text Reports to Structured Data: The Role of LLMs in Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance
Q: Can large-language models reliably transform free text reports into structured data?
Yes, the models can extract clinically relevant features from full radiology reports and map them to risk categories with high accuracy, and the study shows that chain-of-thought reasoning further improves performance, particularly for temporal and calculative tasks.
From Private Practice to National Policy Leadership—Career Pivots, an AJR Podcast Series (Episode 11)
Q: What factors influenced the decision to go into private practice after training?
A mix of practical fit, family considerations, and a strong interest in how healthcare delivery and economics intersected with policy led him to join a private group that balanced clinical work with leadership opportunities, while keeping an eye on future policy work.
Early-Career Momentum: The Method Behind the Madness—From Training to Practice (Episode 11)
Q: How did the dual board certification influence your day-to-day radiology practice and your broader career?
The certification served as a stamp of approval and a marker of experience, but the real shift came from early informatics experiences and the ongoing application of those skills to improve workflows and safety.
What It Takes to Reach the Final Frontier of Space Radiology—Radiology Trailblazers, an AJR Podcast Series (Episode 11)
Q: What's the final frontier for radiology in space?
The guest envisions radiology being fully integrated across all mission phases and modalities, with ongoing innovation in miniaturization (CT/MR), adaptation of imaging for microgravity, and expanded pre/post-flight screening and care for astronauts.
