  • Love this podcast - but need more diverse voices

Hello - I love this podcast and have been a fan since day one - Sophie is obviously a bit of a genius and has really has helped me work out what I need to age well. Love the chemistry with Fiona too. However as a Black woman it would be great to hear from some black aging and skin experts especially as so much of their knowledge applies to everyone. One suggestion is Dija Ayodele of Black Skin Directory. Thank you

Siggi Clavien on what we now know about liver health (and a new approach to liver scans)
Q: How does chemotherapy impact the liver, and can supplements help mitigate those effects?
Chemotherapy can impose high toxicity on the liver, with recovery requiring careful nutrition and liver-supportive strategies. Supplements like Deliverance are positioned to support the liver and immunity during and after therapy, but should be integrated with medical guidance and individual plans.
Siggi Clavien on what we now know about liver health (and a new approach to liver scans)
Q: What practical steps can listeners take beyond screening to support liver health on a daily basis?
Prioritize quality water and food, minimize toxins from everyday products, engage in regular sweating through exercise or sauna, adopt mindfulness to reduce stress, and consider evidence-based supplements like Deliverance to support liver function and immune health.
Siggi Clavien on what we now know about liver health (and a new approach to liver scans)
Q: Would you mind explaining why the liver scan is a better frontline tool than traditional blood tests for detecting fatty liver disease?
Blood tests can be lagging indicators and often miss fatty liver disease because they focus on a few biomarkers raised late in the disease process. The liver scan assesses tissue-level changes like stiffness and fat content, catching issues earlier and enabling preventative action.
The oral microbiome + fertility + chronic disease (and the red flags we should never ignore) – with functional dentist Dr Victoria Sampson
Q: Should people use fluoride or hydroxyapatite toothpaste, and are there risks to fluoride?
Fluoride strengthens enamel and reduces decay with a long track record, while hydroxyapatite is a newer alternative that helps with sensitivity but may not be as strong; decisions should consider individual risk, diet, and tolerance, with emphasis on not swallowing toothpaste.
The oral microbiome + fertility + chronic disease (and the red flags we should never ignore) – with functional dentist Dr Victoria Sampson
Q: What are the main mechanisms by which oral bacteria can affect systemic health?
Bacteria can be swallowed and survive in the gut, inhaled into the lungs, or enter the bloodstream through bleeding gums; each route can contribute to systemic inflammation or infection, influencing conditions like preeclampsia, Parkinson's, and vascular health.
