Content is hit and miss. Some episodes are engaging and have complexity and depth, some episodes are pretty surface level chit chat. Sound editing needs some work — for example in episodes that feature larger groups of people talking, the group laughing will be 10x louder than the dialogue.
The hosts bring their curiosity and expertise about the south to each episode. The scale of the show is perfect—not too self important, but willing to talk through big issues and ideas when appropriate. Fantastic podcast.
Unlikely saints, false identities, Faulkner's ghost, heroes, old maids, and powerful ugly women—this show's got it all. & they talk funny the right way. 😉
