A Life In Song is born of the idea that everybody has a story to tell, and everyone deserves a song. Each episode begins with an ordinary person sharing an incredible, heartbreaking, and often life-changing experience, and culminates with an original song written and performed by long time indie fave Clem Snide. I’m a big fan of storytelling podcasts — The Moth, This American Life etc — and this one is the gentlest and most beautiful I’ve heard. Every time I listen I end up sending what I heard to about five people. If you love stories, listen to this!
I have been a huge fan of Eef Barzelay and Clem Snide since one of their songs was used as the theme music for the second season of the TV show Ed. I have had the honor of meeting him in person and talking with him about how much his music affects me. I am so happy that this podcast is now bringing his music to a new audience. The show is a welcome calm spot in my week. I hope his audience grows to epic proportions thanks to this podcast!
Storytelling at its finest. The song is high art. And this is the podcast I look forward to more than any other at the moment.
Love the content and the presentation. Makes me want to start up a fire in June and crack open a beer to listen to the next one!
Been a Clem Snide/Eef Barzelay fan for quite a while, which is what made me add this to my never-ending, can’t possibly get through them all podcast library. So glad I did - the episodes are beautifully judged, eclectic stories edited to sensible length followed by the usual brilliant songwriting.
