A deep, evidence-driven exploration of Australian history, with a clear emphasis on pivotal events from the federation era through the World Wars and early 20th century. Episodes repeatedly dissect political upheavals, social movements, labor struggles, and national identity formation, often contrasting myth with archival reality. Listeners can expect thorough context, multiple viewpoints, and nuanced debates around how Australians understood themselves across different decades. A notable strength is the host's willingness to interrogate cherished narratives (e.g., Anzac myths) and to connect local events to broader global dynamics, making it engaging for history buffs, students, and professionals seeking rigorous, story-driven analysis.
