The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark is our latest read, and our last read before we take a few weeks off for spring break. One of us loved this book, and one of us really and truly did not, and that's what makes for a fun book club chat!

Silence by John Cage is a collection of lectures and stories. Some are written in vertical columns. Some have, let's call it interesting, spacing. And some, as Cage will tell you, have piano accompaniments, street noises, and the like. There was a le... more

We typically split our reads in half and record two episodes per book here on the pod, but Billy Liar by Keith Waterhouse was such a quick read that we felt one episode would do the job.
The story is in the title, Billy is a liar. He's a 19 year ol... more
We're wrapping up The Leopard, so you may wonder, "What the heck is that animal in the photo? It doesn't look like a leopard." You would be correct! It is, in fact, not a leopard. It is a serval. A much smaller feline, it is the symbol on the Tomasi ... more
Charming hosts, fun conversation, and it’s put books on my radar that I’d probably never have discovered on my own. It’s the most fun when I’m able to read along, but even when I can’t it’s still really cool to hear Jo and April’s takes on things. Also. I’ve learned stuff about Bowie I never knew!
A great idea, well executed. I’m really enjoying reading along and the discussions stimulate my reflections on the reading nicely. Hopefully we will both stick with it through to the end of the list 😉😁🤓 Keep ‘em coming!
Amazing and unique are term which undersells the overall concept of 75reads. David Bowie was a visionary and the list of book, he read, had to reshape his thoughts and dreams.
The only regret I have, is I wish I known about this a year ago and was on board from the beginning.
And I love David Bowie’s music so I’m super interested in knowing what he has read. Thank you both for sharing this!
75 Reads is an excellent podcast offering deeper dives into some classic works of literature and featuring terrific insights from April and Jo.
The ladies make my New Years resolution if reading more books 100x easier. Love it.
This is an amazing podcast! Black boy is one of my favorite books and I can’t wait to read the rest Bowie’s reading list because duhhhhh it’s Bowie! Love love love!
Such an awesome idea! Huge fan of David Bowie. Definitely going to continue following along 💖
Only two episodes in, and just like the in-person book clubs I've been a part of, I'm already behind on teh reading. But, UNLIKE those in-person book clubs, being behind isn't stopping me from enjoying this podcast and getting a lot out of it! April and Jo have an easy chemistry that makes listening to their discussion super fun, and just gets me more excited to dive into the books they're covering. Plus, you know, David Bowie picked the books. Sold!
