  • Clearly lacking expertise

This podcast features some of FinTech’s worst companies in a “pay-for-play” production that doesn’t feature real experiences or leaders.

If they did any research on the company at all, they would know that customers have been screwed over by Josh’s inept vapor ware! No one who has used Gusto has anything nice to say. If you want to learn how to screw over customers by building a non-functioning product that is non-compliant... more

Q: What role does AI play in Slash's strategy moving forward?
AI is used to reduce operating costs and create structural competitive advantages, particularly in back-end processes, enabling Slash to offer more aggressive pricing while maintaining healthy margins, and it also powers an AI-driven interface that helps users perform actions via natural language.
How Slash Grew From $10 to $300 Million in 2+ Years. Victor Cardenas, CEO & Co-Founder of Slash
Q: How has Slash managed product development to stay ahead in fintech, especially with a lean product management team?
Slash operates with a nearly single-product-manager model, emphasizing a dictatorial product leadership style where a single owner ensures cohesion across features, while engineers work closely with designers to ship what customers actually ask for, enabling rapid iteration within verticals.

Q: Victor, walk us through the numbers behind Slash's growth and what's driving that momentum.
The growth is driven by a vertical-by-vertical strategy that delivers highly differentiated software and banking capabilities for specific segments, resulting in better retention and stronger referral networks, along with a push to offer extensive, end-to-end banking services that customers can't get elsewhere.
Max Levchin - Building Affirm, PayPal, and Why He Only Starts Network Businesses
Q: How has underwriting evolved with advances in AI and LLMs?
AI/LLMs are used to enhance modeling, feature discovery, and risk assessment, enabling more accurate and transparent credit decisions, while technologies like post-quantum cryptography are informing long-term security strategies.
