Jeff and Jonny are pastors who want to encourage pastors of “smaller” churches. All most pastors see online are the churches that have grown into the thousands in just a few years, the ones that spread out around the city through multiple services and multiple campuses. • Love these guys & their podcasts!

I really appreciate these two brothers for their genuineness and how they work off each other in a fun way. These two are real pastors who have a genuine concern for small church pastors, and this comes out in their dialog with each other, the topics featured and people they interview. They don't take themselves too seriously but their podcasts feature some seriously solid help and insights.

Definitely one of my favorite podcasts of all!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 431 - The Slow Work Behind a Strong Church Plant
Q: What would you warn a new church planter about at the outset?
Take time to slow the process, avoid rushing toward a Sunday gathering, and prioritize discipleship and core leadership development to prevent becoming spread too thin and to protect the soul of the planter and team.
Episode 431 - The Slow Work Behind a Strong Church Plant
Q: How did you approach recruiting people from your existing church to join the plant?
They formed a launch team during a district conference, built a core with volunteers from the existing church, and communicated a clear vision to attract families who aligned with the mission, rather than simply taking church hoppers.
Episode 431 - The Slow Work Behind a Strong Church Plant
Q: So you didn't actually have to move in order to plant that church?
Correct. They stayed in their existing location and built the plant from there, planning carefully and coordinating with the River of Life leadership before launching.
Episode 430 - What I Wish I Knew Back Then with John Finkelde
Q: If you could go back and counsel your 50-year-old self, how would you do the last 20 years differently?
John would have started investing earlier, tried a small business to understand the mindset of business and market dynamics, and paid for a coach to accelerate growth and uncover blind spots.
Episode 428 - Amazing How This Pastor Is Maxing His Potential!
Q: So tell me how Lead Biblically started and how it developed over the years.
Lead Biblically began as a blog called Quiet Mornings, expanded through naming and domain choices, and evolved into a broader ministry with a strong focus on biblical leadership, publishing books, and building an online platform that supports pastors globally.
