Reviews

4.2 out of 5 stars from 27 ratings
  • Great tech discussion

Tech “thought leadership” in the best sense. Rich and Paul are thoughtful about how AI and other new tech can be useful, and they don’t fall for hype. Good banter. Currently it’s one of two podcasts that I actually listen to every episode of.

Craig Mod: Vibe Coding Towards the Apocalypse
Q: What sparked Craig Mod to start building his own accounting-related software?
He was frustrated with existing accounting software and saw an opportunity to tailor a system around his complex, international finances, combining his love for design and technology to address his specific needs.
Kamal Menghrajani: The Limits of AI Healthcare
Q: So, you've got this background across oncology, policy, and AI—how do you see AI changing clinical practice in the near term?
AI will mainly reduce routine drudgery like documentation and support decision-making with evidence-based contexts, while preserving the core clinician-patient relationship and ensuring that humans remain at the center of care.
Andrew Leland: Hacking Disability with AI
Q: What role does AI play in empowering people with disabilities, and where do you see it going?
AI, especially multimodal and open-source AI, democratizes access by describing the world, supporting non-visual input, and enabling bespoke solutions. The trend points to a future where individual frustrations drive tools that become scalable, with a mix of baseline accessibility standards and personalized, adaptive interfaces.
Hilary Mason: Product First, Then AI
Q: What is Hidden Door's mission with respect to authors and IP?
The guests explain that they do not train LLMs on authors' work, sign revenue-sharing agreements with authors, and seek to create fan-friendly experiences that celebrate existing IP without compromising authors' rights or canon.
Hilary Mason: Product First, Then AI
Q: How can people contact Hilary Mason?
Hilary shares direct contact options, including an email address and Bluesky handle for inquiries, collaborations, or prompts for questions about Hidden Door's work.
