書帳Why Not Reading 何不閱讀的Wendy在看完演唱會後，趁著能量爆棚之際，提議參與「柳川日和」市集，在日榮本屋的攤位推出特別企劃，當日買書即贈送手寫明信片，寫下「You are the way you wish」的祝福，回應書店英文副標「The Way We Wish」。
緣由在島國禮作市集被一句話療癒，當下產生也想做點什麼，來散播歡樂散播愛。真正參與後，沒想到市集擺攤原來這麼累、原來顧攤就沒時間好好逛、各式各樣的客人帶來的驚奇和感動；也在「推書人」的攤位被的愛書人的熱情感染... more
開店以來有許多可愛的客人，也遇到過一些奇怪的客人，大致可分類為：看似來找聊天都在講自己事情的、愛說教下指導棋的、探聽祖宗十八代的。現在聊起可以輕鬆帶過，但當時面對這些狀況可能有各種情緒、內心小劇場在打轉。我們從書店地理位置、區域性格、性別差異、時代背景聊起，到現今中高齡人士在快速轉變時代中的處境。

曾任雜誌、書籍編輯的城市女子亮晶晶，因喜愛植物多年前許願想到鄉下生活，因緣際會來到苗栗苑裡，深受這裡的景緻和人情吸引，後來真的如願在此生活。怕自己在鄉下過得太舒適，萌生了開書店的念頭，初時只想賣外文精裝書，漸漸因來客的需求，再結合個人喜好，逐步調整店內空間、選書和活動類型，「移地讀書會」、「走走山植物踏查團」都是淺山綠的招牌特色活動。因打破自己設定的界線，接受各種可能，雖偏離原先預想路線，但也有了更多交流的機會和意外的收穫。
