I miss this podcast so much. I have listened to each episode multiple times as the content & voice is amazing. I wish there were more stories of old Hollywood stars - I know Karina is probably tired of it but she really is the best. I wish a series about the beginnings of television too. Her book Seduced is great on audiobook. Love you Karina! & btw her voice is wonderful!!!!
It took me a while to get used to Karina’s voice and delivery, but now I appreciate the research and deep dives so much that I don’t mind. Please keep the show going! Is the hiatus permanent? Surely not. Such content is hard to find.
Top notch research and organisation, but spoiled by Karina’s incompetent and offensive attempts to mimic non-American accents when quoting someone foreign.
Having been with this podcast since day one, I do feel a sense of ownership and pride in how it and its author has grown from strength to strength over the years. I give my credentials as a professional journalist, editor, and author (who also studied film at USC and has many family members in “the industry”) only to give fuel to my compliments! Katrina’s balanced and nuanced – not to mention captivating - style of storytelling is crucial creating a vital historical record to these incredible st... more
It’s no surprise that this show is on it’s 20th season at the time of this review. One of, if not the best show about 20th century Hollywood movies and the overall Hollywood scene, from the 1920’s onwards.
An intelligent, articulate 21st century view of a past world—-but this is making it sound as if it’s no fun. It is!!!!
Thank you, Karina Longworth and friends.
