The Weston A. Price Foundation's Wise Traditions podcast is for those who seek optimal health grounded in traditional wisdom. We believe that vibrant health cannot be cultivated in a lab, engineered through modern technology or found by "improving" nature. On the contrary, "Life in all its fullness is Mother Nature obeyed," as Dr. Weston A. Price observed. By learning from healthy societies of the... more

  • Episode 579

I am an avid listener to the podcast as well as a Weston A. Price foundation follower/subscriber. My family and I value the information and research that Weston A. Price foundation provides. I understand that we may not agree with everything presented, but we listen with an open mind. However, in this particular episode I noticed the guest, Christina Eck, continued to refer to the postpartum mother as “the birth parent” or just “parent”. That kind of blatant disregard to womanhood is unfortunate... more

  • Incredible science-based podcast!

I heard Sally Fallon speak in Connecticut 3 decades ago and was amazed. I am now grateful she and Weston Price are still shining their light into the darkness of America’s Big Pharma-controlled medical care. There is so much to learn here!

  • Excellent

After so many years of trying to navigate through “cholesterol is bad”, eat more plants, eat more raw vegetables, carnivore and other movements, I finally found the right place to get educated about what is good for us and what isn’t. My only regret is I wish I had these resources 20 years ago when I was pregnant and about to start raising kids. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You, Hilda and Weston A. Price foundation for your work and education you provide to the public.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

577: The Last Wild Protein: What You Need to Know About Salmon with Steve Kurian
Q: How is your fishing practice different from the average commercial fisherman?
Steve explains that they focus on every fish as a food source, avoid large, wasteful sets, bleed and refrigerate immediately, and aim to minimize handling to preserve quality, contrasting with more production-driven practices.
572: Work With Your Body's Biology For Weight Loss, Optimized Fertility, & Excellent Health With Sarah Kleiner
Q: Can you tell us more about leptin and why it's so important for circadian health?
Leptin is described as a master circadian signaling hormone that communicates with the brain to regulate energy stores and influence downstream systems, including thyroid, immune, and reproductive pathways. Proper signaling depends on light exposure, nutrition, and avoiding inflammatory factors that can block leptin's communication with the brain.
570: Modern Lies DeBunked By Nature With Mollie Engelhart
Q: Mollie, when you were a vegan chef, did you think that food was medicine?
Yes, Mollie affirms she always believed in food as medicine, highlighting that she sought whole foods instead of fake meats and emphasized sourcing from local farms and organic practices, which over time contributed to her shift away from vegan approaches toward regenerative agriculture.
570: Modern Lies DeBunked By Nature With Mollie Engelhart
Q: Mollie, what motivated some of the chapters in your book about Debunked by Nature?
Mollie explains that her experiences on the farm, encounters with the vegan-to-regenerative transition, and reflections on truth led her to challenge prevailing narratives about race, gender, and environmentalism, emphasizing nature's design as a guide and pushing back against the idea that humanity is inherently a problem.
569: Traditional Vs. Industrial Cheese: Does It Matter Where Your Cheese Comes From? With Trevor Warmedahl
Q: What is your view on the term 'terroir' in relation to cheese?
Terroir exists in cheese when environment, animal husbandry, milk handling, and local microbial cultures come together to create unique flavors, but many modern cheeses are stripped of this by standardized milking, processing, and starter cultures.
