Love the podcast, some fantastic guests that has made me piece together and understand why both monarchs and latterly government make the decisions they do and the consequences that it entails both short term and long term, the bonus episodes are sometimes needed to explain the complexity of the times particularly loved Dr Onyeka Nubia bonus episode
I’m in a stuffy chalk dusty classroom one afternoon in 1969 and thanks to Charlie’s relaxed and sometimes rambling narrative I remember why I love history so much. He makes the odd mistake but his story of our monarchy contains the interesting and important bits and is told in an undemanding, easy to listen to way. Keep it up Charlie this is a great listen.
I finally found a podcast that delivers fact based information about the Monarchy that is not in a boring singsong monotone OR a silly comedy format. Thank you Mr.Higson for this fabulous podcast!
Love the podcast but don’t use it to spout the boring socialist diatribe and the attack on today’s politicians 🥱 It’s nice to get away from modern day political spin for once. The rest of it is excellent. Love the full overview of the monarchy through time which is delivered in such an informal and interesting way.
This podcast is truly a gem. Each episode gives you a clear image a monarch, and Charlie as a host is funny and makes complicated things easy to understand and follow. Highly recommend
