This used to be my favorite podcast, and now I never listen to it anymore. The choices that English Heritage made when changing this podcast are baffling…Charles Rowe was a vastly superior host. The topics have become dull and/or frivolous, and the coverage lacks the depth that it used to have. What a disappointment!
Oh Dear , I’m sad to say it but this podcast is now awful . I have avoided listening for awhile because I found the new style very grating but I thought I would give it another go and have just listened to the latest episode . It’s dire - the scripting of the intro is tonally so wrong , it reminded me of a middle aged producer trying to write for children’s tv in the 1990s. I used to look forward to the weekly EH podcasts, they were well researched and informative. What happened? You’ve taken a five star podcast and replaced it with a one star (no star) dumbed down, banal and trivial embarrassment. Why? Brinv back Charles and the old format.
Oh dear, what happened? Sorry to find that the informative and interesting deep exploration into heritage by knowledgeable professionals which separated this podcast from so many others, has been replaced by banal chatter which has none of the same educational material. A big loss.
Just not the same!!! Hardly ever listen!
