He was born Hamish Watson, a surfie dude from Sydney – but he could morph into whatever you needed him to be. Hamish is due to be sentenced to jail in early 2019 for swindling a handful of victims out of more than $7m. But these crimes are just the final pages in a resume too thick to staple; for decades he’s duped victims in the US, Canada, Britain, Hong Kong and Australia. How did he do it? How ... more

I personally think the interview was handled rather poorly with Jane. She was a 17 year old girl and was taken advantage of by an adult man 20+ years older than her. It just felt like the journalist was blaming her despite her clearly being a victim. She was a child, and out of every single thing Hamish did, this was quite possibly the most disgusting and vile. I don’t know why the interviewer thought it was okay to frame it in such a way that a child should feel guilty under these circumstances... more
Very interesting podcast, however very disappointing that we are still blaming children (Jane who was 16/17) for an affair. He groomed her and it’s technically child abuse what he did to her. I think this could have been portrayed better in this podcast. He should be also charged with child abuse including child sexual abuse.
Listened to this podcast years ago and still think about it to this day. Engaging and captivating and it comes down to how the interviews were conducted (well spoken and engaging) and the production level. Hard to come by lately.

Jane was a child whom had gone through trauma before meeting this grown man, who took advantage of her vulnerability, controlled and manipulated her. What happened is not her guilt to carry. He was a grown man who knew exactly what he was doing. Unfortunately there is a lot of victim blaming going on with th... more
Interesting listen but there really wasn’t a need for it to be dragged out into this many episodes that were that long.
