Every single time the right, or even center-left, goes ballistic over a "woke" controversy, the slightest bit of investigation shows the scandal is almost entirely bogus. This is not a new phenomenon; it dates back decades. It's an intentional tool used to protect the powerful and preserve the status quo, while further scapegoating and otherizing those who push for political progress. This podcast... more

  • Should be require listening for those on the left who think there's much substance behind "woke" scare stories and stories about supposed "woke" excesses that media (particularly right wing media lacking much editorial standards), and prominent reactionary personalities promulgate, and, in some cases, create.

The term “woke” originated from Black culture so, how can you hijack the meaning?

I tried giving Thomas a chance but most of the time, he over talks Lydia & rambles with no real closure. Since I love the rest of the Puzzle in a Thunderstorm gang, I tried to stick it out but he literally runs to get a “center” take. • Being Woke is Good, Actually, is great!

Great episode. I started to say “Two wrongs don’t make a right,” but this episode casts light on that adage and digs thoughtfully into why we really do the right things and how the way we react to people doing wrong illuminates who we really are. I want to be a better person after hearing this. Thank you for this episode!
