  • Unfollowing b/c Pletka is Awful

Marc is fantastic and the only reason I listened to this show at all is because of him, but I am unsubscribing. Pletka is pretentious and utterly off putting. She even thinks hard-working taxpayers should pay for NPR. Put a decent person in her place and I will subscribe again.

  • Very informing

Great guest today with insight on Venezuela and foreign policy in general . Guests such as this will keep you in the rotation, despite Pletka’s brain dead anti Trump mewlings

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

WTH: Spyware on Wheels. Chris Miller Explains the Chinese Threat Inside Your Car.
Q: Why is this a national security concern for allies like Europe and Canada?
Because many markets are adopting Chinese sensors and software, and without strong cybersecurity standards, allies risk pervasive surveillance and potential disruption of critical infrastructure in a conflict.
WTH: Spyware on Wheels. Chris Miller Explains the Chinese Threat Inside Your Car.
Q: What regulatory framework exists in the U.S. to limit Chinese components in vehicles?
The Connected Vehicle Rule restricts Chinese components in autonomous and connected features, making it hard for Chinese firms to enter the U.S. market and requiring localization of tech stacks.
WTH: Spyware on Wheels. Chris Miller Explains the Chinese Threat Inside Your Car.
Q: Does it summarize the core risk of Chinese cars?
Yes, the core risk is twofold: espionage via in-car sensors and cameras, and the sabotage risk from over-the-air software updates that could disrupt critical systems.
WTH: War in Iran. David Albright Explains the Nuclear Threat.
Q: What are the long-term risks if Iran's nuclear assets are not adequately secured after any potential upheaval?
There is a real danger that hidden stocks, especially highly enriched uranium and other weaponization components, could be grabbed by malicious actors or proliferate to proxies, underscoring the need for careful chain-of-custody and post-conflict stabilization measures to prevent a dangerous spillover.
WTH: War in Iran. David Albright Explains the Nuclear Threat.
Q: Where do you see things right now, given the ongoing operation?
The core assessment is that the focus must remain on suppressing missiles and command-and-control, with a clear expectation that the nuclear program could be attacked later if not already neutralized, while acknowledging uncertainties about exact outcomes and the risks of escalation.
