Great podcast! Lost of info. The sound quality needs a little work. Some guests speak very quietly and the host speaks very loudly. All in all good podcast for western bird hunters.
The Western Bird Biologist is an amazing podcast that provides great insights into bird biology, bird dogs, and bird hunting in the west. The guests share really interesting anecdotes. The perspectives of the wildlife manager’s point of view are enlightening and something most listeners might not be familiar with. I particularly enjoyed the two-part series with Dominic’s own dad and his experiences as the manager at Ogden Bay Waterfowl Management Area. This podcast is a must-listen to for bird h... more
Dominic, I just found your podcast and I see that you stopping in 3 years ago. Too bad, as I really enjoyed the episodes I listened to, such as your conversation with Bill Dillon, to name just one.
I really like Dominique’s style of interviewing his guests and the conversations hat come out. He’s very personable with his guests in the conversations. There are too many others that rather here themselves talk but he doesn’t. Keep it going Dominique.
I like this podcast, maybe, (if) he makes more episodes less rambling. I like the range of topics on hunting, maybe a couple series on future episodes would be nice.
This an awesome podcast. Being a hunter in the Great Basin a lot of the topics literally hit home to me. Keep up the good work.
Enjoy hearing the mix of biology and hunting. Listening to the pathway biologists took in their careers and their memorable bird dog/hunting stories!
I have been listening to hunting podcast for many years now always looking for a podcast to come out with this type of content. Being a fellow upland hunter and an owner of a versatile dog and NAVHDA member I am very impressed with the podcast and its content. There are not enough quality podcasts on these topics and here we have a great one. Good conversations and stories from guests and host, great questions asked and very informative.

Really Enjoy listening to the science segments regarding birds and habitat.
There is some good information on here. To be honest I’ve only listened to a handful of episodes, but I have one suggestion. When your guests are answering questions let them finish their thoughts. Sometimes you cut them off and give your own insight. You do have good info yourself, but it would be nice if they could finish answering before you chime in. Keep it up, I love bird hunting!
Great content. Diverse topics and guest make this podcast entertaining and educational. He does a great job of interweaving conservation, bird hunting and bird dogs seamlessly... even my kids like it!
Thank you for sharing this podcast with me, I’m learning a lot, my favorite episode so far has been hunting recruitment and cooking Wild game, I checked out Jeremiah's Field to plate website. Excited about cooking soon.
Dominic does a great job bringing a new perspective to bird hunting and bird dogs. Having grown up in Utah pretty close in time to Dominic, I love learning new things about places I’ve always known about but not really known about.
He’s lived his life in this subject matter and does a good job sharing his experiences and bringing in others experiences.
Whether you’re a waterfowler or chase upland game, this podcast drops knowledge for everyone’s interests.
Very informative and entertaining
