  • Great. Smart. Calming.

I really like this podcast. Really smart guests with helpful actionable advice. The vibe is very relaxed and nonjudgmental. I don’t appreciate parenting content that just makes me feel like I’m doing everything wrong. This is the opposite.

  • We really are doing great! :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve had the luxury of sitting down, coffee in hand, and listening to an entire podcast from start to finish. As a mother to a rambunctious and beautiful little boy, and now pregnant again, uninterrupted moments feel almost impossible to find. But wow, did I ever need this one!

The title alone grabbed me: We’re Doing Great. Thank you. I didn’t realize how much I needed that reminder. Like so many of us, I’m trying my best. I make mistakes, I learn, and I keep going, ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Lightening The Parental Weight of Wills, Work, and Future Worries with Erin Bury
Q: Why did you start Willful, and how did you convince your husband to use it?
Willful began as a broader project to organize non-will information, but the team quickly realized people dread estate planning. They narrowed the product to wills because that's the core pain point, and it's what families most need to prevent government defaults from taking control. Erin explains the value of having a clear plan and a trusted executor, which makes it easier to discuss and implement with a partner.
BTS: The Truth Behind Parent Media
Q: Who decides what parents worry about?
Vanessa explains that decisions are shaped by audience needs, scientific grounding, and editorial integrity, balancing what readers search for with what is responsible and useful for families.
What Every Parent Needs to Know About Screens and Technology, With Ash Brandin
Q: How did you end up becoming an expert in all things screens and gaming for kids?
It was a slow evolution over time as I grew up with screens; I developed a different relationship with them than many adults.
The Power of Playful Parenting with Devon Kuntzman
Q: What are some tips for parents dealing with meltdowns?
Parents should shift their mindset to view tantrums as emotional releases and focus on maintaining their own emotional regulation to help support the child.
The Power of Playful Parenting with Devon Kuntzman
Q: Can you explain what is the difference between meltdowns and tantrums?
A tantrum is often goal-oriented but may escalate into a meltdown, which is when a child loses control due to overwhelming emotions.
