This used to be a really good economics podcast. It was highly analytical and spoke in explicitly economic terms. The intricacies of organising and left wing fractures can be interesting, but they’re a couple of steps removed from the economic analysis.
I’m left, but this left me cold recently. Left wing politics continues to fracture and divide on terms only agreed among themselves while a potentially-interested public lack access. I worry this will continue to be indulgent and non-specific.
If you’re a far leftist this is a podcast for you. Puff opinions of far leftists who are unrealistic about the solutions needed for some of the very difficult challenges facing society today. Terrible presenter, panelists and generally an awful
listen. Also has zero to do with economics.
There’s an economic basis to the problems we face, and yet the way economics is talked about by government is nonsense. A breath of fresh air to hear intelligent, well informed people talking sense.
Brilliant episode on central banks!
