  • Sports beat

The show is not the same without Eric Hansen the true Notre Dame football insider.

I am sure I am not alone but I no longer listen.

I have emailed the station manager. It’s a budget issue.

  • Awesome job guys

I’ve been listening to this podcast for the past 9 years. During the Irish football season, there is no team better. Love the banter Eric and Darin (even when they disagree). Off season I don’t mind the talk about other ND sports or even local sports. I grew up in South Bend but haven’t lived there in years. Listening to these guys brings me back home. Thank you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Budweiser's Weekday Sportsbeat: CJ Carr Talks Life After Jeremiyah Love And Jadarian Price And More
Q: Is this a concern for CJ Carr, playing without two first-round backs behind him and still elevating his game?
The hosts frame the question and Carr responds by noting the team lineup will be different, with other backs stepping in, but emphasizes that progress will come from the broader offense and improved receiving corps, rather than relying on a single safety net.
Budweiser's Weekday Sportsbeat: Notre Dame Lands Transfer Ethan Roberts, Marty Biagi Talks Irish Kickers
Q: What would you think when you saw this news?
The hosts acknowledge the transfer from the Ivy League and frame it as a logical addition given Notre Dame's roster needs, while also noting the gap left by departing players. They discuss fit, roster balance, and the potential impact on depth at guard and overall team composition.
Budweiser's Weekday Sportsbeat: Joe Rudolph Talks Notre Dame Offensive Line, Markus Burton Commits To Indiana
Q: What factors led to Will Black proving himself at left tackle and then moving to left guard?
Rudolph explained that Black's performance in practice and his ability to handle inside, tighter spaces made guard a natural fit, and the unit's chemistry and decision-making in selecting the five best linemen helped solidify the shift.
Budwesier's Weekday Sportsbeat: Notre Dame Football We In Or We Out Listener Questions
Q: In or out on Notre Dame being able to win a national championship with the current roster and coaching situation?
The consensus leans toward a ceiling that includes a strong run with quarterback development and a top-heavy emphasis on football, but there are concerns about the experience and depth across the roster, particularly in the transfer portal era.
Budweiser's Weekday Sportsbeat: Rapid Fire, CJ Carr and QB Room, Women's Basketball
Q: What did CJ Carr learn from studying NFL quarterbacks and from taking snaps under center?
He gained confidence and a better understanding of footwork, under-center mechanics, and play-action concepts, which should reduce predictability, expand his offensive options, and better prepare him for future NFL transitions.
