  • Nice Addition

Drew’s interviews are nice addition to the show. I really enjoyed hearing from Frank Pomarico, and the Ivan Maisel episode was also excellent. Looking forward to more.

  • Basketball

Can we please for the love of god stop talking about basketball. I get it you’re trying to fill time but I’d rather have the podcast be 10 minutes shorter than listen to basketball talk. If you have to continue talking about basketball, at least put it in the end and warn us so we can swipe out.

  • Best ND coverage around

Priester, Sampson and O’mally are tops when it comes to ND football coverage. Look forward to this podcast weekly. Had to come back to add John Bryce to that list. A+++

  • Great info, hosts are well spoken, they don't waste time with too much joking around. And they don't keep talking about betting.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Irish Illustrated Interviews: James Rendell, Notre Dame’s Former Australian Punter
Q: You mentioned the NCAA decision on your eligibility; what was that experience like and how did it shape your mindset going into the next season?
Rendell discusses being granted two years and then facing a denial for a waiver to return for another year; despite the disappointment, he emphasizes gratitude for the two years, the lessons learned, and the importance of focusing on the present and continuing to compete at a high level.

Q: What was it like adjusting to the college game and practice structure when you first arrived?
The practice structure was highly organized, with precise routines and tempo; Rendell describes learning the terminology, the pace, and the emphasis on training days, which helped him adapt from AFL to punting in college football.

Q: How did the Notre Dame recruiting process happen for you, and what was it like when Coach Biagi visited you in Australia and then you moved to the U.S.?
Coaches from Pro Kick Australia sent film to Notre Dame; Rendell performed well in a session for ND, received a scholarship offer shortly after, and Coach Biagi visited with Rendell's family, which meant a lot to his mom. The process was fast and life-changing, but grounded in readiness and hard work.
Irish Illustrated Interviews: James Rendell, Notre Dame’s Former Australian Punter
Q: I'm curious if you can explain the difference between Australian rules football and American football, and describe especially Australian rules football's features you grew up with.
I explain that Australian rules football is played on a big oval with 18 players per side and is continuously active; transitioning to punting in American football required learning very specific techniques, ball orientation, and timing. It's a fast, highly technical shift, but the fundamental skill of kicking translates well and you build muscle memory to perform under pressure.
Irish Illustrated Insider: On elite DB room, defensive line outlook, true WR1 search, Irish Wear Green uniforms, playoff expectations & the future Irish starting quarterback
Q: With CJ Carr in the mix, is the 2027 starting quarterback on the roster or not?
There is debate; some think a homegrown option could develop, others expect a transfer or a longer evaluation period before deciding, with Teddy Girard showing potential but not yet proven as a starter.
