  • Love Pete but…

I would rather listen to a soundtrack of wet farts, than Matt Fortuna talk about Notre Dame football. The “smartest guy in the room” schtick only works if you actually sound like you know when you’re talking about.

I love Pete. I listen to other podcasts to hear him. But i don’t regularly listen to this one because Fortuna is just terrible. He is on an ND podcast and doesn’t like ND - it’s so obvious. Tonight he said “Penn State is deeper, more talented and more physical”. REALLY? ND is down to second and third stringers at a bunch of positions and still won!!! My goodness. Stupid statements like that make this nearly impossible to listen to. And i won’t be unless it’s after a great win and I’m just looki... more

  • Great podcast

I’m not an ND fan but these two are very good, knowledgeable, pleasant, and non “homers”. They aren’t like the OSU podcast groups I’ve heard where they seem very biased. I will say (my opinions) as a USC fan and grad who woefully regrets the irresponsible hiring of Lincoln Riley that I think your 6 year deal to Freeman might be premature. I credit him for getting the Irish back on track after NIU but you guys have no signature wins this year. What top 25 team have the Irish beaten and yet th... more

  • Great podcast

This is a stand out among Notre Dame podcasts due to the quality of the hosts’ reporting, guests, and command of the narratives.

However, I’m compelled to write to disagree with the assertion on November 23, 2024 episode that the shamrock series should be played more often in New York. Getting into Yankee Stadium for the game was an unmitigated disaster of the kind I wouldn’t wish on a Michigan fan. It was pure chaos and not the kind college football fans root for. It was a thousand times worse... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Notre Dame falls to Miami, 27-24, in the season opener
Q: What are the implications of this loss for the season moving forward?
While it's disappointing, it doesn't feel like a referendum on the team's potential; with a first-time starting quarterback and a tough opponent, it suggests areas for improvement but also optimism for the future.
Notre Dame falls to Miami, 27-24, in the season opener
Q: What do you think happened with the offensive play-calling during the game?
The play-calling felt predictable and overly cautious, especially with Carr; it seemed like they were favoring lateral plays rather than taking advantage of his abilities to push the ball downfield.
Notre Dame training camp opens & catching up with Jack Kiser
Q: Do you think this year is more repeatable for Notre Dame compared to previous years?
I 100% agree. The talent is there, and we have the experience to build that identity.

Q: How do you view the leadership potential of younger players?
There's a lot of young guys who want to step up and be leaders this year, and it only takes a switch for someone to become a leader.

Q: Jack, what's it like being an NFL football player?
Being an NFL football player is pretty cool, but at the same time, it's a new title to it. You're an employee, you're going to do your job.
